Breast Enlargement

Cosmetic surgical enlargement improves or restores the firmness and fullness of the breasts and can be performed in adults of all ages. Breast Augmentation or Enlargement may be required for a number of reasons. Some women who have small breasts feel that their figures are out of proportion to their frame, and they would like the breasts to be larger. Occasionally, the breasts may lose some of their substance following pregnancy and breast-feeding.

The operation is carried out in a private hospital under general anaesthetic. A small incision is made along the crease below the breast, around the areola, or in the armpit and an implant is inserted. The most frequently used breast implants are made of an envelope that is filled with silicone gel or normal saline (salt water).

If the breasts are droopy, a breast lift may be necessary at the same time. Depending on the degree of the problem, a periareolar or a full lift may be necessary. The breast lift or Mastopexy can be carried out with several techniques. The scar lines are different in each technique and your surgeon will discuss this at the consultation.

The average stay in hospital is one to two days and full recovery in one to two weeks.
